FAQ
What people usually ask before lesson one
Do I need a microphone?
Yes, it is required. A lesson runs on spoken conversation: Lexy asks a question out loud and listens to your answer, and there is no way to type an answer inside a lesson. That is why microphone access is requested before your first lesson, not in the middle of it.
What does it cost, and what is free?
The first two lessons are free and need no bank card, and lesson one is open even without signing up. After that it is €10 a month or €100 a year. It is a one-time payment: no auto-renewal, no repeat charges, nothing to cancel.
How many languages are there, and can I start from zero?
37 languages: 20 European ones, Turkish, Kazakh, Georgian, four languages written in the Arabic script, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Malay, Tagalog and Esperanto. Level A1 gives you a 16-lesson course starting from zero. From A2, B1 and B2, the course gives way to a catalogue of 15 roleplay scenarios: a cafe, an airport, a job interview, a doctor's visit.
How long does one lesson take?
About five minutes of conversation, plus short stages before and after it: vocabulary, exercises, a listening dialogue and a text. A full lesson with every stage takes 6–10 minutes.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Lexy runs in the browser on a computer or a phone: all you need is a microphone and an internet connection.
What languages is the interface available in?
Russian, English, Spanish and Arabic. The interface language is detected automatically on first launch and can be switched on the intro screen.
What happens to my progress when my access period ends?
Your progress, vocabulary list and audio library stay exactly as they were. Only lessons from the third one onward close, and they reopen after the next payment.
