Right-to-left script and word roots
Arabic script runs right to left, and many words are built around a shared root. Transliteration lets you start speaking before you read confidently.
15 real-life scenarios at levels A2–B2
You pick a role and hold a conversation in Arabic. Each scenario has a two-sided goal board: what you need to say and what you need to get from Lexy.
- Order food at a café
- Check in at the airport
- Explain a route to a taxi driver
- Talk to a doctor
- Discuss renting a place
- Go through a job interview
Before your first lesson
Can I learn Arabic from scratch?
Yes. Level A1 opens a sequential 16-lesson course. Lesson one starts with introductions and short answers about yourself.
Do I need to already read in Arabic?
No. Lexy speaks the questions aloud. For scripts other than Latin, phrases come with a transliteration, so you can focus on sound and response first.
How does a conversation lesson work?
Lexy asks a question aloud, you answer out loud and ask a question back. Through the first 15 lessons Lexy never interrupts you with corrections. You can review the grammar separately after the conversation.
What's available after A1?
At levels A2, B1, and B2, instead of a linear course, 15 roleplay scenarios open up in Arabic: a café, a trip, a doctor's visit, renting a place, a job interview, and more.
What do I need for the first lesson?
A browser, internet, and a microphone. The first lesson is free and needs no sign-up.
